Does the fringe survive washing?

Yes. It is made from the fabric's own threads rather than attached as a separate trim. Washing inside a mesh bag stops it tangling with other items.

Is there an anti-slip backing?

No. This one relies on its own weight and on tucking into the seat crease. The Yarn Dyed Chenille and Striped Chenille panels have a rubber dot backing if that matters more.

Which end does the fringe sit on?

The two short ends. On a sofa it falls at the sides, which is where most people want it.
